My approach

What is counselling and how can therapy help? Counselling provides a confidential, safe place in which to explore difficult feelings and experiences. It aims to help you make sense of whatever is preventing you from living fully. Although counselling can be daunting or even on occasion painful it is ultimately a very empowering experience and can have a lasting positive impact on your life.

What is Gestalt and how do I work: I have a Gestalt approach and bring in mindfulness techniques where appropriate. The most important thing is for you to be listened to and understood and to be given space to bring in whatever is worrying you, or for us to carefully dig deeper and explore more profound issues. You have the necessary resources to heal yourself. However, I know that sometimes we get stuck and need some support. My goal as a therapist is to help you see clearly what your situation is, find out your position in it, and experiment with you to find new solutions; through awareness, self-acceptance and change.

I work with people who are experiencing:

  • Depression & low mood

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

  • Loss

  • Trauma

  • Domestic abuse & coercive control

  • Family issues & breakdown

  • Relationship issues

  • Sexual/Gender diversity

  • Anger issues

  • Self-esteem issues including body dysmorphia

  • Family issues

I have experience of working with a diverse client group in a variety of settings. I was counselling at the Parent Support Group in South East London for a year previously. After relocating to Colchester in 2015, I have worked at Outhouse East and I am currently working at The Stockwell Centre and The Turner Centre.
